A warm sunny day can make you feel good

It’s getting hot here now. Most days the temperature reaches the high 80s by mid day and remains that way for hours. But it’s still pleasant. Over the next few weeks the temperatures will soar and then we will all be hidden away much of the daytime in the cool of the air conditioning.
But for me this is a good time of year. Somehow I feel much less depressed. And that is strange in a way, because my first big bout of major depression occured in the summer, but not because of the heat - so I guess my brain doesn’t relate sun and heat to depression, for which I’m very glad!
So I have spent a lot more time out doors while I still can - before the heat gets too oppressive - walking in the mountains, breathing in the fresh air, and getting all that extra sun.
And I’m feeling much better for it. The depression seems to have lifted (knock on wood) and my work has become much more productive as a result.
I took this picture yesterday of the view from the top of a hill near our village. It’s a little hazy, but that’s because of the heat. It makes me glad to have somewhere like this to go and clear my thoughts
I guess I am sharing this to show, that even when you hit a bad spot and when you are feeling really depressed, out of the blue something can work which lifts your spirits.
With me that something is definitely warm weather and sunshine. With you it could be something else.
Now just remind me I said all this when the temperatures here hit 100 degrees and I’m moaning because it’s getting me down ![]()
