New Page on Depression and Families
Jun 11th, 2008 by zania
When a family member is depressed, it can cause major problems for even the most loving and capable families. Despite this, although much has been written about Depression, the subject of ‘Depression and the Family‘ has been much less studied.
This is why I have decided to write a page entitled When Depression Hits a Family. I’m placing it as a sub page under the link for Types of Depression.
The page is based upon my own experiences of Depression and my own research, rather than on any ‘expert evidence’ (such as there is).
Nevertheless, it could be useful for any family who has a member suffering from Depression and does not know where to start and how to find ways to cope with this horrible illness.
So, take from When Depression Hits a Family what you will and I hope it will help someone out there. I am not a professional health worker, so, as with all the information I post here at Fraying Edges Depression Help, please do not take it as the only information out there, or as a source of guaranteed professional help (not that there ever is…).
But if my page on Depression and the Family helps anyone confused about how they cope with the confusion of a family member suffering from Depression, and understand a little more about ways which may help them deal with this, then it will have done it’s job. ![]()
